Deleting your account

Travellers have no account to delete

There is no sign in for travellers and never will be. Your trip, your budget, your plan and your vehicle are held on your own phone and are not sent anywhere. Uninstalling the app removes the lot. Nothing of yours is sitting on a server waiting to be deleted, because it was never sent.

Business accounts

Deleting your Lap Map account does not cancel a subscription billed by Apple. Cancel it in your Apple account settings to stop future renewals. You can still delete your Lap Map account immediately.

If you have listed a caravan park, a workshop or somewhere worth stopping, you have an account. You can close it yourself in two taps:

1. Open thelapmap.com.au/business and sign in.
2. Scroll to Close this account and choose Delete everything.

The same screen is in the app, under the same heading. If you cannot get in, email admin@thelapmap.com.au from the address you signed up with and it will be done by hand.

What is deleted

• Your sign in and your email address.
• Every listing you added, including its name, phone number, website and location.
• Any ad running on those listings, and the counts of how often it was shown.

Your listings and sign-in are removed immediately and this cannot be undone. Payment records are retained as explained in our privacy policy. Your places stop appearing to travellers.

What is kept, and why

Road reports, camp ratings and confirmations stay on the map. They carry no name, no email and no account, so there is nothing in them to identify anybody, and they are what the next traveller down that road is relying on.

Where we have to keep a record of a payment for tax purposes, we keep the payment record and nothing else about you.
